QBE TravelOn Coverage Changes

Ok, This post came rather late; but as the saying goes, "Better Late Than Never". QBE TravelOn did a revamp to their Travel insurance policy on 02 September 2015 and the rates are rather attractive now with their enhanced benefits as follows:





NEW
•Financial Collapse of Travel Agency
(Reimbursement of the irrecoverable prepaid travel expenses due to insolvency of NATAS travel agent).
•Cover pregnancy related expenses.
•Pays emergency personal mobile phone charges.
•Cover rental car excess charges.

CHANGES
• Children means unmarried and dependant person who is/are aged from 3 months up to the
attainment of 18 years of age or up to 25 years old if still studying full-time in a recognised
institution of higher learning at the commencement of Period of Insurance.
• Redefinition of Relative is to include additional persons, i.e. grandparent-in-law,
son-in-law, daughter-in-law, niece, nephew, aunt and uncle.
• Provision for follow-up treatment in Singapore within 3 days after return to Singapore
under the Medical and Additional Expenses Cover 
• Revision in Premium Refund Policy.
Provided there is no claim under the policy, a 50% Premium Refund for cancellation within 3
months from commencement date and 25% Premium Refund if policy is cancelled after 3 to 6
months from commencement date.
• Redefinition of dangerous activities or sports.

ENHANCED
•Coverage for travel delay including missed travel connection/travel diversion.
•Covers Full Terrorism Cover (including nuclear, biological and chemical
means).
•Pays up to S$6,000 for baggage and personal effects.
•Redefinition of pre-existing medical conditions.

NEW RATES
•Lower rates for short trip.
•Lower minimum premium per person.
•Premium calculation based on every 3 days instead of per day.

To add to all the benefits above, QBE TravelOn is also 1 of the few insurers which is still sticking to the "Asia/Worldwide" cover compared to many other insurers which use "Zoning" for certain Asian countries with higher risks of Natural Disasters...meaning those insurers charge higher premium rates to you!
